The Energy Information Administration announced a decrease of 1.5 million barrels in US crude inventories last week, bringing the total to 447 million barrels, contrary to analysts' projections of no change.
During the same period, US gasoline reserves experienced a decline of 5.7 million barrels, reaching 234.1 million barrels, while distillate stocks increased by 0.9 million barrels, reaching 117.9 million barrels.
